...and how!
I started my new job on Monday. I'm being trained right now, so there's a lot of watching and listening without much doing. It doesn't help that I've been headachy for days!
Anyway, on to better topics! Stampin' Up! has a lot of new stuff and a big change--get in on them NOW!
First of all, the new Occasions mini catalog is available.
Next, Sale-a-bration has started! This is your best chance to get free stamp sets.
There are new Decor Elements available, too. I want to get one of the chalkboard images!
Of course the big new is that Stampin' Up! now offers clear-mount stamps. Notice the name--clear-mount. That's important. Here's why: Since clear acrylic stamps started in the rubber stamping world, people have asked Stampin' Up! if they would offer these stamps. Their reply has always been that the clear stamps did not have the longevity of rubber stamps, nor the intricate detail. Many people have noticed this, when their clear stamps turned yellow and brittle. In the past I've linked to an article about the quality difference between rubber and clear stamps.
On the other side, clear stamps offered some good features--easier to store (they take up less space) since the image is stored separate from the mount, and clear mounts that enable you to see where you are stamping.
Stampin' Up! has come up with a great compromise. The stamp images are still the high-quality rubber, but now you can purchase the sets so that they can be placed on a clear mount for stamping and yet stored in a DVD-style case. Prefer your stamps permanently mounted on wood (the way SU! has always offered)? No problem--those are still available, too.
If you're on my mailing list, the Occasions mini and Sale-a-bration mini catalogs should be arriving soon, if they haven't already. Otherwise, go ahead and click on the images in the sidebar to view and/or download these mini catalogs for yourself.
Happy Stamping!
