Merry Christmas, or Happy Birthday, Yeshua! (yes, really!)

I just read an interesting online article from Slate. In honor of Christmas, it talks about what Jesus' contemporaries would have called him--and it wasn't Jesus! It seems that the translations have given us the spelling and pronunciation we take for granted. The article also talks about a famous Old Testament hero with the same name--even though it's also spelled differently!
